Some people think they don’t have time for regular check ups. Others that they cannot afford them. These two lies will wreak havoc on your oral health in the short term and in the long term. You think that you are in control as long as you brush regularly, but there are some things you cannot do on your own.

Tartar

Brushing and flossing get rid of plaque, and yes we know that your toothpaste might say, “with tartar control” but that doesn’t mean you get it all. We will do something called scaling which removes the tartar. If tartar is not removed damage can be done to the bone the tooth is connected to.
Cavities

Unfortunately no matter how good you may be at brushing and flossing you may be missing some spots. We will x-ray your teeth to make sure there aren’t any. If there are and you don’t get it fixed it could lead to a root canal which is more expensive and painful than fixing a cavity.

General Well-being
There are certain things that can happen in your mouth without your knowledge. Your dentists can check to make sure that there is nothing harmful going on in your mouth that could lead to dangerous consequences.

Cleaning

We get rid of any excess plaque, tartar, and give your teeth a nice polish ensuring that there is no build up. The more build up of these things in your mouth the more likely you are to develop problems. We stop that.
