What the video covers
- Here's what to expect when you get a dental bridge.
- A bridge replaces a missing tooth by attaching to the teeth on either side. It stays in place, so you never have to take it out.
- Filling the gap matters. A missing tooth makes chewing harder, and over time, nearby teeth can drift or tilt into the open space.
- First, we'll numb the area so you stay comfortable. You may feel some pressure, but you shouldn't feel any pain.
- Next, the teeth on each side are gently reshaped, so crowns can fit over them.
- Then a digital scan, or an impression, captures your teeth and your bite, so the bridge fits exactly.
- While your permanent bridge is being made, a temporary one keeps those teeth protected.
- When it's ready, we check the fit, your bite, and the color, then cement your bridge onto the anchor teeth.
- To care for it, brush twice a day, and clean under the false tooth daily with a floss threader or a water flosser. And keep up with your regular checkups.
- If you have any questions along the way, just ask. Your dental team is always happy to help.
